You really can live aboard a cruise line. Viking announces 245 day world cruise!
Published Thursday, May 3rd 2018 - Updated Friday, May 4th 2018One of my traditional snow birds, who has migrated to world cruises instead, has had one complaint. That was, that the world cruises departed in early January, but that still left mid December on where some snow could be expected. Well I now have an answer for them. Check this 8 month itinerary which departs in August and will touch every continent except Antarctica, visiting 59 countries and offering 22 overnights on a circumnavigation of the globe.
But what also caught my attention about this all inclusive cruise line's offer was the tremendous value of not only the cruise, but the added extras that were included.
First, just the basics ( try to forget that you will be visiting 59 countries and 113 ports of call with like minded soon to be great friends. Just consider the economic of their pricing. The cruise starts at $ 379 per day ( ppdo) and includes not only all your normal room and meals, but wine and spirits, WiFi, {current promotion} $4000 excursions credit, gratuities to the staff, as well as free Business Class Air and transfers. Generally about $200 per guest per day in features and services provided. I think you would be hard pressed to keep your expense to $379 per day in snow bird mode, considering the prices of most major resorts, meals and entertainment, and miscellaneous. Then lets talk about the expenses you wouldn't have like auto insurance, gas, maintenance, garaging, etc etc. Now throw back in a trip around the world without have to pack and repack and repack.
It also includes overnight stays in 23 destinations.
I would have to agree with Vikings characterization of it being the the Ultimate World Cruise.
Here's a map of the itinerary.
