13 Days departing Buenos Aires - 25 January 2026

Aboard the Luxury Seabourn Pursuit, PC6 Class Expedition ship

Includes round trip charter air from Buenos Aires to Ushaia

An expedition cruise to Antarctica offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the breathtaking landscapes and unique wildlife of the southernmost continent. On this extraordinary journey, you will witness the majestic beauty of towering icebergs, explore vast icy landscapes, and witness iconic wildlife such as penguins, seals, and whales in their natural habitat.

One of the highlights of a Seabourn xpedition cruise to Antarctica is the opportunity to meet and learn from the 24 member expedition team of experts that will not only lead and guide your daily excursions but be available to inform and answer all your questions about the area, navigation, wildlife, weather and life in Antarctica.  Seabourn's open bridge experience provides a totally immersive experience for you.

And if immersive is your goal, on the Seabourn Pusuit you can enjoy a 2-3 hour submersible journey under the sea in their 6 person crewed submarines. While this is an optional ($) excursion.   Seabourn Pursuit is equipped with two 6 passenger submarines

An expedition cruise to Antarctica offers the opportunity to partake in activities such as kayaking, snowshoeing, and landing on the continent for excursions. These activities allow you to immerse yourselves in the pristine wilderness of Antarctica and gain a deeper appreciation for the natural wonders of this remote and untouched region.

An expedition cruise to Antarctica is an unforgettable experience that offers the chance to witness the raw, unspoiled beauty of one of the world's last great wildernesses.

Antarctic cruises.  Whats the difference?  The major difference between a cruise to Antarctica and an Expedition to Antarctica is whether you actually set foot in Antarctica (Expedition) or whether you sail by it at a considerable distance (Cruise).  Ships with a capacity of 500 or more passengers are forbidden for tendering or docking in any location.  There are further restrictions on ships under 500 capacity such as the amount of passengers that can be off ship on an excursion at any one time (max of 100).  Also new regulations to protect the region restrict the type of fuel used, the Polar Class of icebreaker used (PC6), and other factors controlled by the International Maritime Organization and Antarctica

We've chosen Seabourn not only for its many inclusions and luxury amenities but another not so well understood factor.  The Seabourn Pursuit has a maximum capacity of 200 passengers,  That important in this region as regulations only allow 100 passengers ashore at one time, and when they return, the second group goes ashore.  Given the excursion time, and daylight availability, this generally allows the expedition to perform 4 excursions per day.  Weather conditions can sometimes reduce this.  But many other expedition ships have capacities exceeding 240 to 350 or more.  Their capacity and the 100 person restriction on excursions mean less excursions per day possible.
