Alaska and Northern Lights/ Aurora Borealis Uniquely Alaska
Published Friday, October 31st 2014
Seeing the northern lights when visiting Alaska is a top attraction, and there are three conditions necessary for it to happen. First, a clear sky; cloud cover obscures the aurora. A night without a full moon also helps increase your chances. Second, darkness; the aurora is only viewed in cooler months as Alaska's midnight sun makes viewing impossible. Last, an active aurora. You can check the forecast at a number of different websites.
