Internationally renowned performers taking centre stage for this year’s eagerly anticipated Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival include singer/songwriter Robin Thicke, two-time Grammy winner Jon Secada, Jamaican reggae icon Jimmy Cliff, Latin sensation Timbalive, American rapper Flo Rida, acclaimed Paris-based pianist Alain Jean Marie, two-time Grammy nominee Joey DeFranceso featuring Grant Stewart, lovers rock legend Beres Hammond, Barbadian jam band Krosfyah, Trinidad’s queen of Bachanal Destra and Jamaica’s reggae artiste Chronixx.

 

The 11-day festival kicks off on April 30 and runs through May 10 featuring dozens of musical performances and art showcases throughout the island. Locations span from Saint Lucia’s iconic Pigeon Island National Park to Fond D’Or on the east coast and Laborie in the south-west. The festival continues to infuse artistic events with star-studded musical performances, providing a platform for local artisans, entertainers and cultural enthusiasts to also command world attention during the two-week celebration.

 

Presented by the Saint Lucia Tourist Board, the festival continues to attract some of the most recognizable names in the music business and has become a magnet for visitors from the United States and around the Caribbean region, as well as the social highlight of the year for local music fans. Completing the line-up is a string of local entertainers including Jazz diva Derede Williams and more than 100 local artisans, who will perform at venues island wide throughout the festival.

 

With a renewed emphasis on the arts component, an Arts Village will be set up in the north between two major shopping areas in Rodney Bay, while the acclaimed runway fashion show, “Hot Couture” will return with a spotlight on Saint Lucia and the region’s cutting edge style.

 

Tickets are on sale now for the 24th Annual Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival at www.stluciajazz.org with prices ranging from $24 to $80 per day. A 10 percent discount will be applied to bulk orders of 20 tickets or more starting April 1.
