When I first heard that Royal Caribbean was replacing the aging Grandeur of the Seas with its sister ship, I was not that excited.  But when I found out what they have done to the Enchantment of the Seas, I now feel it is the perfect ship for Baltimore.  That because in 2005 there was what you might call a major makeover in just about every way, to the tune of $55 Million dollars.

They may two major changes that are perfect for Baltimore and the sailings.  The basically cut the ship in half and added 83 feet in the middle.  This was predominantly Balconies which they were short of.  But it also added more shops, entertainment, restaurants, and most importantly as well for Baltimore lots more meeting space and variety.

The capacity increased by 300 passengers and now they may have enough balconies to meet the demand in the region,  and that makes it great for the cruisers and families travelling out of Baltimore.

But when you couple the meeting space with the number of corporations in the area and the 5 day cruises to Bermuda it makes it a perfect ship and sailings for corporate meetings at sea.  First to Bermuda there are two sea days.  Perfect for getting the corporate meeting or traiining, sales, or product launch, whatever they might do by flying to Vegas for a few days.  While the meetings are going on, the family is well taken care of at the Spa or the pool, kids and teens programs.  And the family gets to have dinner together or perhaps the corporation has a family event.  Then you have two days in Bermuda over the weekend where team building like golf can take place or just give everyone the weekend off with their familes or have a big beach party, etc.  Anything really.  Then one sea day on the way back for more or follow on corporate meetings.  Arrive in Baltimore 7 AM and drive back to the office or home.  GREAT!

Just so you can see the physical differences between the two ships and what a great deal for Baltimore and the DC area.
