Being Irish, I have an abiding sense of tragedy which sustains me through temporary periods of joy.  This was the tag line in an email I recently received and not being Irish I enquired about the origins of it.  The response was it was from W.B. Yeats or so the emailer believed.

I've always admired the Irish in their sense of being, and ability to have a great time no matter where nor under what circumstances.  Perhaps it is knowing that periods of joy will be around the corner, or the proverbial luck is at the next turn.

Well come out on the 8th of August to the Irish Festival held in Alexandria, VA on Waterfront Park from 11 AM to 7 PM and see how much fun they and you can have when you know its a joyous event.

And it raises money for the annual St. Patricks Day parade for which Alexandria, VA is becoming known.
