Some hotels indicate the meal plan included with the reservation as "European Plan," "Continental Plan," "American Plan," or "Modified American Plan."
- European Plan: The hotel quote is for lodging only; any food provided by the hotel will be billed separately.
- Continental Plan: A continental breakfast (usually fruit, bread or baked goods, coffee, tea, and juice—no cooked food) is included in the room rate.
- American Plan (also called All-Inclusive): The room rate includes three meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all provided by the hotel. Drinks are not included under this plan.
- Modified American Plan: The price includes breakfast and either lunch or dinner.
In Europe, the American and Modified American Plan are also called full pension/full board or half pension/half board, respectively. If you are unsure what meals are included with your reservation, please contact us, we'll be glad to assist.
