This is a show for travel professionals to network, meet with tour and cruise operators, discuss current trends and topics, etc., your typical symposium and convention.  Having said that, what caught my attention was the significant number of operators both tour and cruise that are opening up more and more itineraries in China, and the popularity with each in including a cruise on the Yangtze river.

Just about every river cruise company now has pre and post cruise tours, and every tour company is now including river cruises on the Yangtze as part of their tours.

While this might be confusing to some it was recomfirmation to us that China is attracting more and longer visits from tourists and that the Yangtze river is a great tourism value and has excitement of its own.  So while the Great Wall, Xian's Terra Cotta Warriors and Beijing and Shanghai have been classical China treats, the river gorges of the Yangtze are fast approaching the must sees as well.
