You won’t find leprechauns or pots of gold at EPIC, but you’ll discover that what it means to be Irish expands far beyond the borders of Ireland through the stories of Irish emigrants who became scientists, politicians, poets, artists and even outlaws all over the world. Discover Ireland from the outside in and find out why saying “I’m Irish” is one of the biggest conversation starters, no matter where you are.
Located along the River Liffey in the historic CHQ (Custom House Quay) Building, EPIC takes visitors on a fantastic interactive experience through 20 galleries, which uncovers the dramatic and inspiring stories of the Irish who traveled the world, from early times to the modern day.
The Irish Times calls EPIC - The Irish Emigration Museum "the world’s first fully digital museum and had 120,000 visitors in its first year".
We just completed another visit to the museum, where we also engaged a genealogist for an hours review of our Irish ancestors we had identified during our own research here before our Irish trip.
